Dave Eggers, author of A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, is also a vigorous supporter of public education. He has given talks about his work with after-school tutoring centers, in which he has students working alongside professional writers to develop publications.
See Dave Eggers discuss his project here.
Now he has a new book. In Zeitoun, he writes about Abdulrahman Zeitoun, a Syrian immigrant who stays in New Orleans after the hurricane hit to look after his property and is arrested on suspicion of looting.
